KAMPALA, March 16 (Xinhua) -- Uganda's Tom Dradriga has earned a late qualification for the World Indoor Athletics Championships slated for March 21-23 in Nanjing, China.
"We are happy that Dradriga will be in China to compete against the other athletes. The qualifying time for the race was 1:45:00, but Dradriga had a time of 1:46:39. So competing against the best runners will help Dradriga get more exposure ahead of other International competitions," Dominic Otuchet, President of the Uganda Athletics Federation (UAF) told Xinhua on Sunday.
Dradriga, a two-time Ugandan national champion with a personal best of 1:44:74 in the 800m, will be all out to try and prove himself. "I am super excited and ready to do my best. My training has been intense, and I'm going to give my best for Uganda during the Championships in China," said Dradriga. Enditem
