SANAA -- Yemen's Houthi group said it launched a retaliatory attack against the USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier in the Red Sea on Sunday in response to dozens of U.S. airstrikes on its positions.

"The American enemy launched a blatant aggression against our country with more than 47 air raids targeting Sanaa and seven other governorates," Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Sarea said in a televised statement aired by Houthi-run al-Masirah TV. (Yemen-Houthi Attack-US Aircraft Carrier)

KHARTOUM -- The Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) declared on Sunday that its troops had made significant progress in the capital Khartoum, a claim denied by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF).

"Our forces have made significant progress in central Khartoum," SAF spokesman Nabil Abdalla said in a brief statement. (Sudan-Army Progress-Khartoum)

JERUSALEM -- Israeli negotiators met on Sunday with Egyptian officials in Cairo to discuss the hostage issue, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office said.

JERUSALEM -- Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced on Sunday that he has initiated the procedure to dismiss Ronen Bar, head of the Shin Bet, amid growing tensions with the internal security agency.
