BEIRUT/JERUSALEM -- Two people were killed on Sunday evening in Israeli airstrikes targeting a house in the village of Ainata in southern Lebanon, according to Lebanon's Public Health Emergency Operations Center.

The center, affiliated with Lebanon's Ministry of Public Health, confirmed the airstrikes and casualties in a statement. (Israel-Lebanon-Strikes)

SANAA -- Yemen's Houthi group said it launched a retaliatory attack against the USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier in the Red Sea on Sunday in response to dozens of U.S. airstrikes on its positions.

KHARTOUM -- At least 16 civilians were killed following attacks by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on villages around El Fasher in western Sudan, the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) announced on Sunday.

"The RSF launched aggressive and indiscriminate attacks on 37 villages around El Fasher on Friday and Saturday, leading to the deaths of 16 civilians and injuries to others," the SAF's 6th Infantry Division said in a statement. (Sudan-Attacks-Deaths)

JERUSALEM -- Israeli negotiators met on Sunday with Egyptian officials in Cairo to discuss the hostages issue, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office said.
