MUSCAT, March 17 (Xinhua) -- Oman's Foreign Ministry on Sunday expressed deep concern over the recent military escalation in Yemen and its severe humanitarian impact, including civilian casualties.

In an official statement, the ministry voiced regret over the ongoing hostilities, warning that continued military actions would only exacerbate the suffering of the Yemeni people and further destabilize the region.

Reaffirming its firm commitment to peaceful resolution, Oman emphasized the importance of dialogue and negotiation in addressing the crisis. It also cautioned that a military approach would produce serious consequences on regional security and stability.

The statement also called for intensified efforts to tackle the root causes of the conflict through sustainable political solutions, underscoring the need to achieve lasting peace, stability and development in the region. Enditem
