Afghanistan trades goods worth over 1.2 bln USD in 1 month

KABUL, March 17 (Xinhua) -- Afghanistan exported and imported commercial goods valued at more than 1.2 billion U.S. dollars over the past month, data from the country's National Statistics and Information Authority (NSIA) showed on Monday.

Afghanistan exported goods worth over 144 million dollars, while importing goods valued at 1.08 billion dollars during the cited period, NSIA said.

The major markets for Afghanistan's exported goods included India, Pakistan, and the United Arab Emirates, and the key sources of imports included Iran, China, and Pakistan, it said.

Fresh and dry fruits, handicrafts, hand-woven carpets, saffron, precious and semi-precious stones are the most popular products for export in Afghanistan, while the major import items were petroleum products, oil, machinery, vehicle apparatus, and metal products. Enditem
