TEHRAN, March 18 (Xinhua) -- Senior Iranian and Russian diplomats exchanged views on bilateral ties and regional developments on Tuesday, Iran's Foreign Ministry said.

In Tehran, Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Majid Takht Ravanchi held a meeting with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko, during which the two sides discussed Iran's nuclear program, developments in the Ukraine conflict, and new U.S. policies, the Iranian ministry said in a statement.

The diplomats stressed the need to maintain consultations and cooperation within regional and international organizations to promote multilateralism, the rule of law, and international law.

Iran and Russia, both under U.S. sanctions, have bolstered their political and economic ties to counter Washington's moves. Enditem
