THE HAGUE, March 18 (Xinhua) -- A major power outage disrupted service for over 45,000 customers in The Hague on Tuesday afternoon, according to Dutch grid operator Stedin.

"Large power outage in the center of The Hague -- 45,201 customers were left without power. Our technicians are on their way to determine the cause and resolve the outage as quickly as possible," Stedin said on social media platform X.

According to Dutch national broadcaster NOS, the outage occurred around 4 p.m. local time, causing traffic light failures at some intersections and halting several tram services.

Power was restored about an hour and a half later, though the cause of the outage remains unknown. Enditem
