Nepal's foreign trade up 15.29 pct in 8 months

KATHMANDU, March 20 (Xinhua) -- Nepal's international trade grew 15.29 percent in the last eight months of the current 2024-25 fiscal year due to strong growth in exports and imports, the government said on Thursday.

External trade jumped to 1.3 trillion Nepali rupees by March 13, up from 1.13 trillion rupees over the same period of 2023-24, the Department of Customs said in a report.

Exports surged 57.2 percent to 158 billion rupees, while imports increased 11.2 percent to 1.14 trillion rupees during the period, the agency noted. (1 Nepali rupee equals 0.007213 U.S. dollars) Enditem
