MANILA -- A fire broke out in a residential neighborhood in the Philippine capital Saturday afternoon, killing three and injuring two others, the Bureau of Fire Protection said.

The bureau said the victims, aged 52, 40, and 12, were trapped in the houses that gutted the area in Valenzuela City when the fire broke out past noon local time. (Philippines-Fire-Deaths)

COLOMBO -- Around 35 people were injured after two buses collided in Warakapola in Sri Lanka's Sabaragamuwa province on Saturday afternoon, police said.

KABUL -- Afghanistan's Ministry of Economy granted 134 operating licenses to domestic and foreign organizations during the past year, the ministry's spokesperson Abdul Rahman Habib said.

"About 134 operating licenses were distributed to domestic and foreign non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in Afghanistan, of which 129 are domestic, and the rest are foreign, all operating in different sectors including security, health, education, agriculture, and disaster management," Tolonews quoted Habib on Saturday as saying. JAKARTA -- One foreign tourist was killed and two others injured after a boat capsized off the coast of Indonesia's resort island of Bali, an official said on Saturday.

The boat, carrying 13 people, 11 of them from Australia, was struck by large waves off Klungkung regency on Friday, according to I Putu Widia Ada, head of the operational unit of the disaster management and mitigation agency in the regency. (Indonesia-Tourist-Accident) Enditem
