WELLINGTON, March 24 (Xinhua) -- The public consultation on New Zealand's negotiations for a comprehensive Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with India was launched on Monday.

India presents significant trade opportunities for New Zealand, said New Zealand Trade and Investment Minister Todd McClay.

Strengthening economic ties with India would be key to the New Zealand government's goal of doubling export value over the next decade, McClay said.

All interested New Zealanders, including businesses, non-governmental organizations, and members of the public, are invited to submit their views before April 15, McClay said, adding public input will help shape the approach in the early stages as negotiations are now underway. Enditem
