SINGAPORE, March 24 (Xinhua) -- Singapore's Elections Department (ELD) announced on Monday that the certified registers of electors will be open for public inspection starting Tuesday, following an initial public review conducted in February.

The registers, which list a total of 2,758,095 eligible electors, were first updated and made available for public inspection last month as part of the standard process ahead of the next general election due by November 2025. The registers are now available for a second round of public inspection.

The ELD noted that the certified registers were compiled based on the electoral boundaries as of Feb. 1. However, on March 11, Singapore revised its electoral boundaries based on the recommendations of the Electoral Boundaries Review Committee, reflecting population shifts and new housing developments.

The department is preparing composite registers by realigning polling districts to their new electoral divisions. Electors are advised to await further updates on the release of these composite registers before verifying their voter details.

In January, Prime Minister Lawrence Wong directed the Registration Officer to revise the registers. Wong will lead the ruling People's Action Party into the polls. Enditem
