ISLAMABAD, March 24 (Xinhua) -- Over half of Pakistanis have no interest in politics or elections, according to a recent survey conducted by Gallup & Gilani Pakistan.

The survey report, released on Monday, revealed that 67 percent of Pakistanis, who were approached for their opinion about their level of political engagement, said they are not involved in politics at all.

The survey, which sampled men and women from urban and rural areas across all four provinces of the country, highlighted a widespread disengagement from political participation in the country.

According to the findings, 10 percent of Pakistanis said they are actively involved in politics or elections, while 13 percent reported being somewhat involved and 10 percent either did not know or chose not to respond.

The study was conducted between Jan. 7 and 12, 2025, using Computer-Assisted Telephone Interviewing (CATI).

The report also noted the country's declining political engagement, which could have significant implications for voter turnout and democratic participation in upcoming elections. Enditem
