LIMA, March 24 (Xinhua) -- Peruvian President Dina Boluarte on Monday appointed Julio Diaz Zulueta as the new Interior Minister.

Diaz Zulueta, a retired police general, pledged to fight the rising cases of theft, extortion and murder in Peru.
