SEOUL, March 25 (Xinhua) -- South Koreans saw conflict between the conservative and the liberal blocs as the most serious social conflict, statistical office data showed Tuesday.
According to social surveys compiled by Statistics Korea, 77.5 percent of respondents picked the conservative-liberal conflict as the most serious in 2024.
It was followed by 74.8 percent with conflict between the rich and the poor and 66.4 percent with conflict between employers and employees.
Social conflict deepened in the country following President Yoon Suk-yeol's botched martial law imposition and his impeachment in December last year.
Both supporters and critics of the impeached president have since held rallies near the building of the constitutional court that is deliberating on whether to remove Yoon from office or reinstate him.
Those who selected conflict between men and women was the lowest at 51.7 percent last year, but it was far higher than 42.2 percent in the previous year. Enditem
