VIENTIANE, March 26 (Xinhua) -- The Lao government continues its efforts to address economic challenges and review progress on national development plans.

During the government's monthly meeting for March, participants assessed the implementation of the National Socio-Economic Development Plan, the State Budget Plan, and the Monetary Plan for 2025, with progress noted in infrastructure, land title issuance, teacher shortages, and other social initiatives.

The meeting, held from Monday to Tuesday, also emphasized the need for continued efforts in preventing and suppressing drug trafficking and human trafficking, Lao National Radio reported on Wednesday.

The meeting highlighted the government's progress, with reported revenue collection reaching 96.09 percent of the first-quarter target, marking a 54.21 percent increase from 2024. Plans were also reviewed to address debt resolution and stabilize commodity prices.

Additionally, the meeting agreed to adopt seven draft laws, including those related to telecommunications, income tax, and education.
