KABUL, March 26 (Xinhua) -- More than 8,000 foreign tourists visited Afghanistan in the year of 1403 (in Persian calendar which ended on March 20, 2025), and the number of foreigners visiting the country is on the rise, a spokesman for the Afghan interim government's Ministry of Information and Culture (MIC) said on Wednesday.
Registered by the MIC, the number of foreign tourists visiting Afghanistan in 1403 is more than 8,200, Afghanistan National Radio and Television quoted MIC Spokesman Habib Ghafran as saying.
About four million domestic tourists, according to the official, also visited cultural heritages, natural beauties and historical monuments in several provinces of the country over the past year.
The MIC in its bid to attract more tourists has been trying to provide all necessary facilities, including interpreters, transport and accommodation, the official said. So far, four hotels have been constructed in Nuristan, Paktia, Kapisa and Ghor provinces to welcome tourists. Enditem
