VIENTIANE, March 26 (Xinhua) -- Laos' Ministry of Planning and Investment, with support from the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), will establish the Population Policy Coordination Committee (PPCC) to oversee the National Population and Development Policy 2019-2030.

The PPCC will focus on key areas, including reproductive health, youth empowerment, aging, and maximizing the demographic dividend, and address issues crucial to Laos' development as it moves toward graduation from the least developed country status, the ministry said in a report on Wednesday.

The committee will be a central platform for coordinating efforts across ministries, civil society, the private sector, and international partners.

The PPCC will enhance cross-sector collaboration to accelerate national development goals and improve citizens' well-being. It will focus on building shared understanding and evidence-based planning to support vulnerable populations. Enditem
