YAOUNDE, March 27 (Xinhua) -- At least 12 soldiers have been killed and around 10 others injured after jihadist terrorists raided the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF), the Ministry of Defense said Wednesday.
In a statement, the ministry said the attack took place from Monday night to Tuesday. The terrorists attacked a mixed post, which was close to the Cameroonian border, of the Defense and Security Forces in the locality of Wulgo (in Nigeria), Sector III of the MNJTF of the Lake Chad Basin Commission.
It said the terrorists used "advanced weaponry" in several light tactical vehicles during the attack "due to their apparent alliance with powerful transnational criminal entities."
All the injured soldiers have been sent to N'Djamena, the capital of Chad, according to the statement.
For over a decade, terrorist organisations like Boko Haram have been active in the Lake Chad Basin. Enditem
