MOSCOW, March 27 (Xinhua) -- The Russian Defense Ministry said on Thursday that it has registered new Ukrainian attacks on Russia's energy infrastructures over the past 24 hours despite a previous agreement to halt strikes on energy facilities.
Ukraine's strikes targeted electricity facilities in Russia's border region of Bryansk, causing power cuts and disruptions to a transformer substation, said the ministry.
It added that a Ukrainian drone was downed when attempting to hit a gas storage facility in Crimea.
Earlier, Ukraine also claimed that Russia had restored raids on its energy infrastructure. On Tuesday, Ukrainian presidential adviser Dmytro Lytvyn said that there had been eight confirmed hits on Ukrainian energy facilities since March 18.
After their separate talks with U.S. delegations early this week, Russia and Ukraine agreed to hold off firing on each other's energy infrastructure for 30 days. Enditem
