PHNOM PENH -- Cooperation with China is essential to protecting and preserving ancient temples at the UNESCO-listed Angkor Archaeological Park in northwest Cambodia's Siem Reap province, a spokesperson said on Thursday.

Long Kosal, deputy director-general and spokesperson of the APSARA National Authority (ANA), the government agency responsible for managing, safeguarding and preserving the Angkor Archaeological Park, said China's significant contributions have made monuments at the park safe from any harm and a highly attractive destination in the world. COLOMBO -- The "Me and China" themed lecture was held on Wednesday at the China Cultural Center in Sri Lanka, highlighting the growing cultural and personal connections between the two countries.

VIENTIANE -- The Lao government will collaborate with development partners to study the feasibility of solar power projects in Bolikhamxay and Sekong provinces, aimed at boosting energy production and supporting socio-economic development.

BANGKOK -- Thailand's cabinet on Thursday approved a draft law to legalize casinos within entertainment complexes to attract large-scale investments and enhance the Southeast Asian country's vital tourism industry.

Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra said the proposed law would allow casinos to occupy up to only 10 percent of specially designated entertainment complexes, while the remaining would be allocated for other attractions, such as hotels, restaurants, concert venues, sports stadiums, and amusement parks.
