BANGKOK, March 28 (Xinhua) -- The Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited (AOT) announced on Friday that six airports under its management, including those in Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Phuket, have resumed normal operations as of 2:30 p.m. local time.

According to the statement, the airports underwent thorough safety inspections following an earthquake earlier in the day. The inspections confirmed that the structural integrity and aviation infrastructure of all facilities meet safety standards.

Earlier, Thailand's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Suriya Juangroongruangkit ordered all civil aviation units to temporarily suspend operations for one hour to conduct comprehensive safety assessments. Enditem
