CAIRO, March 28 (Xinhua) -- Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty held separate phone calls on Thursday with his Saudi and Turkish counterparts to discuss efforts to strengthen the ceasefire in Gaza, Egypt's Foreign Ministry said on Friday.

Abdelatty spoke with Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan as part of the ongoing consultations following a recent Arab-Islamic Ministerial Committee meeting on Gaza.

The talks focused on Egyptian and Qatari efforts to reinforce the ceasefire and ongoing coordination with the United States. Abdelatty stressed the importance of securing the release of captives and detainees while ensuring the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza, including medical and shelter assistance.

Abdelatty's discussions with the Saudi minister also covered an Arab-Islamic roadmap for Gaza's early recovery and reconstruction, said the Egyptian Foreign Ministry in a statement.

It added that Fidan briefed Abdelatty on the outcome of his recent visit to the United States and explored ways to mobilize support for rebuilding efforts in the enclave. Enditem
