LUANDA, March 28 (Xinhua) -- Angola exported about 10.2 million carats of diamonds in 2024, generating around 1.5 billion U.S. dollars in revenue, according to the latest official data released Friday.
The United Arab Emirates was the primary destination, accounting for 78.1 percent of exports, followed by Belgium with 19.8 percent, said Secretary of State for Mineral Resources Janio Victor in Luanda, Angola's capital.
Highlighting Angola's ongoing efforts to strengthen its position as a leading global producer and exporter of rough diamonds, he said the country is committed to expanding exploration and prospecting activities and enhancing geological research. Enditem
