SANAA -- The U.S. military launched 26 fresh airstrikes on Yemen's capital Sanaa and other provinces on Friday evening, killing at least one and injuring three others, Houthi-run al-Masirah TV reported.

Eight airstrikes were launched on the Al-Sawad area in southern Sanaa, and 18 airstrikes targeted several parts of the provinces of Saada and al-Jawf, al-Masirah TV said. (Yemen-Fresh US Strikes-Houthis)

DAMASCUS -- A French-initiated virtual summit, bringing together leaders of France, Syria, Lebanon, Greece, and Cyprus on Friday, addressed regional security, economic cooperation, and Syria's recovery, Syria's leadership said in a statement.

Syria's leader Ahmed al-Sharaa, French President Emmanuel Macron, Lebanese President Joseph Aoun, Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides, and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, attended the meeting. (Syria-France-Summit)

BEIRUT/JERUSALEM -- Israeli airstrikes hit a building in Beirut's southern suburbs on Friday, marking the first such attack since a ceasefire was agreed on Nov. 27.

The Israeli military said it targeted a "drone storage facility" belonging to Hezbollah in Dahieh, a stronghold for the Shiite militant group near the Lebanese capital. (Israel-Beirut-Airstrikes)

KHARTOUM -- The Sudanese army said on Thursday it had seized the last remaining areas held by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces in Khartoum locality, marking a significant development in the nearly year-long conflict.
