JERUSALEM, March 30 (Xinhua) -- The Israeli military said on Sunday it intercepted a missile launched by militants in Yemen.
The military said in a statement that the air force intercepted the missile "in accordance with protocol."
Police said the missile triggered air raid sirens in areas including Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and the coastal plain.
Houthi forces in Yemen resumed attacks on Israel after Israel renewed its deadly air and ground campaign in Gaza earlier this month, effectively ending a two-month ceasefire.
According to military figures, nine surface-to-surface missiles have been launched from Yemen since March 18, with no Israeli casualties reported. Enditem
