VIENTIANE, March 31 (Xinhua) -- Laos has recorded a trade surplus of 310 million U.S. dollars in February, with total imports and exports exceeding 1.5 billion dollars, local media reported Monday.
In February, Laos' exports totaled 925 million dollars, a 42.3 percent increase from January, while imports were valued at 615 million dollars, down 12.9 percent compared to January, a report from the Lao Trade Portal website said on Monday.
Laos' main export products included electrical appliances and equipment, mixed and bar gold, cassava, potassium salt, copper ore, paper and paper products, wood pulp and paper waste, rubber, cassava starch, and clothing.
The country's main imports included diesel fuel, land vehicles, instant mixed chemical products, mechanical equipment, sugar, iron and steel equipment, electrical and electronic equipment, fertilizer, farm tractors, and clothing.
