VIENTIANE, March 31 (Xinhua) -- Laos' Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry is exploring strategies to improve multi-stakeholder collaboration and strengthen capacity for advancing climate change action in the country's livestock sector.
The ministry will focus on integrating livestock-specific climate change mitigation and adaptation measures into national policies, improving data collection on greenhouse gas emissions, and implementing climate-smart livestock practices, according to the ministry's report on Monday.
These efforts aim to support Laos' long-term climate strategy while promoting sustainable livestock production, food security, and climate resilience.
The ministry is also exploring lessons from other countries and developing a roadmap for incorporating livestock standards into national climate strategies. Enditem
