MADRID, March 31 (Xinhua) -- The foreign ministers of the United Kingdom (UK), Germany, France, Italy, Poland, Spain, and the European Union (EU) High Representative issued a joint statement here on Monday, reaffirming a united stance in supporting Ukraine amid its ongoing conflict with Russia.
"We remain committed to further political, financial, economic, humanitarian, military and diplomatic support for Ukraine, together with our international partners," the ministers stated.
The joint statement highlighted that Europe currently provides approximately two-thirds of all aid to Ukraine and said it rejects any potential peace agreement "that restricts Ukraine's military and defense industry or the military presence of partner countries in Ukraine."
"We reiterate the inherent right of Ukraine to choose its own destiny and to defend its democracy. Ukraine's future is in Europe and in the European Union, and Ukraine's future is crucial for the security of Europe," the statement emphasized.
"Europe must be fully involved in the negotiations and will make its own decisions," said the statement. Enditem
