TOKYO, April 1 (Xinhua) -- Seven people, including an infant, were injured after a car sped out of control through a busy area of downtown Nagoya, central Japan, on Tuesday, Kyodo News reported.

The two males and five females were conscious as they were taken to the hospital, said the report.

Emergency services were notified at around 1 p.m. local time that there was a "car running wild" in the city's central Sakae district and that multiple people were hurt and lying on the ground, according to local authorities.

The vehicle stopped after running over a traffic bollard in the vicinity, with its front fender badly damaged, the report said.

The police are questioning the driver. Enditem
