ZAGREB, April 1 (Xinhua) -- Croatia has achieved another record-breaking year in tourism revenue, with foreign visitors generating nearly 15 billion euros (16.2 billion U.S. dollars) for the country last year, the Croatian National Bank said in a statement on Tuesday.
The revenue from international tourists reached 14.99 billion euros in 2024, marking a 2.7 percent increase compared with 2023, according to the statement.
Croatia recorded over 21.3 million tourist arrivals and more than 108.7 million overnight stays in 2024, which represented a four percent increase in arrivals and a one percent increase in overnight stays compared with 2023, according to a recent press release of the Croatian government.
Tourism revenue has been one of the pillars of the Croatian economy and amounts to about one-fifth of Croatia's gross domestic product. (1 euro = 1.08 U.S. dollar) Enditem
