THE HAGUE, April 1 (Xinhua) -- Dutch prosecutors announced on Tuesday that the suspect, who injured five people with a knife in central Amsterdam last week, is facing charges of manslaughter with "terrorist intent."
The 30-year-old man of Ukrainian nationality was charged with "five counts of attempted murder or manslaughter with a terrorist intent" and will remain in custody for at least 14 days, the Netherlands Public Prosecution Service said in a statement.
The attack occurred on Thursday near Sint Nicolaasstraat in the city center. Authorities arrested a male suspect shortly after the incident with the assistance of bystanders. Four foreign nationals -- two Americans, a Belgian, and a Pole -- were among the five injured.
"Of the five victims of the stabbing, four are still in hospital and their condition is stable," the statement said, adding that police are continuing the investigation. Enditem
