BAGHDAD/TEHRAN, April 1 (Xinhua) -- Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' al-Sudani and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian emphasized Tuesday the importance of coordination among Islamic countries in the face of common challenges and risks, in a manner that contributes to achieving security and stability for the Islamic world.
Al-Sudani received a phone call from Pezeshkian, during which they exchanged Eid al-Fitr greetings, according to a statement from al-Sudani's media office.
Al-Sudani affirmed Iraq's rejection of the threats against Iran and its keenness on Iran's security and stability, said the statement.
For his part, Pezeshkian said that "Iran is determined to implement all bilateral agreements and by further strengthening brotherly relations with Iraq and other Muslim and neighboring states, to neutralize the enemies' conspiracies to cause divisions among regional countries," according to a statement published on the website of his office.
The two leaders also discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation in various fields to serve the interests of both countries and the two peoples. Enditem
