VIENTIANE, April 2 (Xinhua) -- President of the Lao National Assembly Xaysomphone Phomvihane urged the Lao Ministry of Education and Sports and other relevant sectors to continue their efforts to improve education and address challenges they faced.
During a meeting to publish the results of the eighth ordinary session of the National Assembly's ninth legislature, Xaysomphone emphasized that education is crucial for every individual and community, underscoring its key role in shaping the future of Laos, according to a report from the Lao Ministry of Education and Sports on Wednesday.
He also said that economic development depends on skilled workers, with technical knowledge being essential for progress.
At the meeting last Wednesday, Xaysomphone also pointed out the importance of nurturing teachers, ensuring there are enough qualified educators in line with established standards, and urged the implementation of policies to support them.
