VIENTIANE, April 2 (Xinhua) -- Laos is working to raise awareness and develop cybersecurity skills among youth and students nationwide through the Lao Cyber Security Hacking Challenge competition.

The competition took place here on Wednesday, with participation of 11 teams from across the country, Lao National Radio reported.

Speaking at the event, Khamla Sounnalat, director of the Department of Cyber Security under the Lao Ministry of Technology and Communications, said that the event promotes collaboration between the ministry and cybersecurity companies.

It also serves as a platform for knowledge exchange, emphasizing the protection of information and responses to cyber threats. The competition highlights the significance of cybersecurity in today's digital landscape, he added. Enditem
