TASHKENT, April 2 (Xinhua) -- Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and his Iranian counterpart Masoud Pezeshkian have agreed to further enhance trade and economic ties between their countries.
Both leaders discussed pressing issues on the bilateral agenda during a telephone call Tuesday and expressed satisfaction with the current development of their ties, the press service of the Uzbek President reported on Wednesday.
"Indicators of mutual trade and cargo transportation are on the rise, the number of joint ventures is increasing, regular direct flights between the capitals are being carried out, and businesses as well as cultural and humanitarian exchanges are expanding," said the report, citing a statement by the Uzbek government.
Both sides agreed to further enhance cooperation in the chemical, petrochemical, textile and food industries, agriculture and the construction materials sector, among other areas. Enditem
