TEHRAN, April 2 (Xinhua) -- Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian emphasized the need for greater unity among Muslim nations to help end Israel's military campaign in Gaza during a phone call with Tunisian President Kais Saied on Wednesday, according to a statement from Pezeshkian's office.

Pezeshkian commended Tunisia's support for Palestinians and stated that increased cohesion among Islamic countries could help prevent further "atrocities" in Gaza, the statement said. He also reiterated Iran's readiness to deepen relations with Muslim states, including Tunisia.

Saied affirmed Tunisia's solidarity with the Palestinian cause, backing Palestinians' legitimate rights and resistance against "occupation and aggression," the Iranian statement noted.

He also expressed hope for a Palestinian "victory" and highlighted Tunisia's desire to strengthen bilateral ties with Iran, according to the statement. Enditem
