HANOI, April 3 (Xinhua) -- Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Thursday called for the establishment of a quick-response team led by Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son to deal with the U.S. imposition of tariff on Vietnam.
Chinh was speaking while chairing an urgent meeting with relevant ministries and sectors in response to U.S. President Donald Trump's decision to impose a 46-percent tax on certain goods imported from Vietnam, Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper reported.
Chinh said the U.S. decision is inconsistent with the good bilateral relationship and the wishes of the peoples on both sides.
He urged ministries to stay calm, confident and proactive, adopting flexible, timely and effective strategies to continue overcoming obstacles and external shocks, according to the newspaper. Enditem
