Chinese models dominate Israel's EV sales in Q1

JERUSALEM, April 3 (Xinhua) -- Chinese brands and models dominated the electric car sales charts in Israel in the first quarter (Q1) of 2025, according to data released by the Israel Vehicle Importers Association.

The most popular electric model in Israel in January-March this year was the Atto 3, an electric subcompact crossover from Chinese carmaker BYD Auto, with 1,939 units sold, the data showed on Wednesday.

Next on the list is the mid-size crossover SUV G6 from Chinese manufacturer XPeng Motors, with 1,783 units sold, and the compact 02 model from Chinese automaker Lynk & Co, owned by Geely Automobile Holdings Ltd, which sold 1,276 units in the quarter.

A total of 13,132 Chinese electric cars were sold in Israel in the three months, accounting for 82.8 percent of all electric vehicles sold in the country during the period.

In the first quarter, China was the largest car exporter to Israel, including electric and gasoline-powered ones, with 24,976 units sold, followed by South Korea and Japan. Enditem
