DAMASCUS/JERUSALEM -- Nine civilians were killed, and several others wounded in an Israeli airstrike late Wednesday targeting Syria's southern Daraa province, the state-run SANA news agency reported.
In a report on Thursday, SANA said the airstrike hit the Jubailiyah Forest area between the cities of Nawa and Tseel. It also reported heightened public anger and widespread mobilization in response to what it called a "massacre," as Israeli forces penetrated deeper than ever before into Syrian territory. KHARTOUM -- At least 89 people have been killed and hundreds wounded in attacks by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on villages south of Omdurman city, north of the Sudanese capital Khartoum, volunteer groups said on Thursday.
The RSF's attacks on 15 villages in the Al-Jamouiya area involved "indiscriminate shelling, direct gunfire, and armed clashes," the Sudanese Emergency Lawyers Initiative said in a statement. (Sudan-RSF Attacks-Casualty)

GAZA -- At least 97 Palestinians were killed, and 138 others wounded by Israeli attacks across the Gaza Strip over the past 24 hours, Gaza-based health authorities said on Thursday.

ISTANBUL -- Nine migrants were killed, and one other went missing on Thursday when a boat carrying migrants capsized off the coast of Canakkale province in northwestern Türkiye, local authorities announced.
