OSLO, April 3 (Xinhua) -- Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen on Thursday delivered a direct rebuke to the United States, saying that attempts to pressure Denmark into relinquishing control over Greenland are unacceptable and in violation of international law.
"You cannot annex other countries -- not even under the pretext of international security," Frederiksen said at a press conference in Nuuk, the capital of Greenland, emphasizing that national borders, sovereignty, and territorial integrity are fundamental principles rooted in international law.
"These principles were established after World War II so that small countries would not have to fear large ones," she added. Enditem
