KABUL, April 4 (Xinhua) -- Four commuters were killed as their car turned turtle in northern Afghanistan's Jawzjan province on Friday, provincial police spokesman Qari Abdul Sattar Halimi said.

The deadly accident took place due to reckless driving on the road linking the provincial capital Shiberghan City to the neighboring Balkh province, the official said, adding four persons lost their lives on the spot.

A similar accident claimed three lives and injured seven others in the northern Badakhshan province last week.

Reckless driving on congested roads and lack of safety measures often contribute to the deadly mishap in the war-battered Afghanistan. Enditem
