COLOMBO, April 5 (Xinhua) -- Seven memoranda of understanding (MoUs) between India and Sri Lanka, covering several key sectors, were exchanged on Saturday in the presence of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake and visiting Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the President's Media Division (PMD) said.

The PMD said in a statement that these agreements focus on enhancing cooperation in the fields of energy, digitalization, defence, healthcare, and development assistance.

Modi arrived in Sri Lanka on Friday night on a state visit and is scheduled to remain in the country until Sunday.

Following the conclusion of bilateral discussions between Dissanayake and Modi, official-level talks between the delegations of Sri Lanka and India were also held on Saturday at the Presidential Secretariat in Colombo. Enditem
