INCHEON, South Korea, April 5 (Xinhua) -- China booked three places in men's and women's singles semifinals at the 2025 World Table Tennis (WTT) Champions Incheon in South Korea on Saturday.

Wang Yidi, China's first seed in women's singles, secured a semifinal spot with a 4-1 win over Shin Yu-bin from South Korea. In the semifinal, Wang will face Zhu Yuling, the former world No. 1 representing Macao, China.

"I think Zhu is in very good form. It will be a very tough match tomorrow. I'll do my best for the match, and also prepare for difficult moments," Wang said after the match.

Also on Saturday, fourth-ranked Chen Xingtong defeated Japan's Mima Ito 4-2 to advance to the semifinal, with Miwa Harimoto of Japan lying in wait in Sunday's semifinal.

In the men's singles quarterfinal, 21-year-old Xiang Peng claimed an impressive win over Brazil's Hugo Calderano. "I was well-prepared for a tough clash. But once I got a clear understanding of Calderano's spins during the match, things started to pick up for me," Xiang said.

The young player admitted that the key to his good performance today was the state of mind. "I played without pressure and felt very relaxed."

"I approach each match with eager anticipation, even though it will be tough," said Xiang. Enditem
