TOKYO, April 6 (Xinhua) -- Three people were unaccounted for Sunday after an emergency medical service helicopter went missing and was later found at sea in southwestern Japan, local media reported.
At around 2:50 p.m. local time, the coast guard was notified that the helicopter, carrying six people, heading from Tsushima Airport in Nagasaki Prefecture to transport a patient to a hospital in Fukuoka Prefecture had gone missing off the east coast of Tsushima, public broadcaster NHK reported.
After searching the area, a patrol boat found the capsized aircraft floating on the sea at around 5:05 p.m. local time and rescued three people, the report said.
Two of the three people rescued are conscious, according to the transport ministry. The search for the remaining three is continuing.
The six on board included a pilot, mechanic, doctor, nurse, as well as a patient in her 80s and her attendant in his 60s. Enditem
