KABUL, April 6 (Xinhua) -- The construction of a standard transportation terminal has begun in Kabul, capital of Afghanistan, the Ministry of Transport and Aviation said in a statement Sunday.
According to the statement, the terminal, with a cost of 163 million afghani (over 2.2 million U.S. dollars), will be built on 7.3 acres of lot within the next 18 months.
About 3,000 people will be employed directly and indirectly under the project, the statement added.
The ministry has begun the construction of new terminals in several provinces over the past couple of weeks.
The Afghan interim government plans to launch more development, welfare, and infrastructure projects across the war-ravaged country to tackle economic challenges and create job opportunities. Enditem
