KATHMANDU, April 7 (Xinhua) -- Two Nepali mountain guides went missing in an avalanche between Camp 2 and Camp 3 on Mount Annapurna I on Monday morning, the expedition's organizer said.

Rima Sherpa and Nima Tashi Sherpa were hit by the avalanche when they were climbing to Camp 3 from Camp 2 on the world's tenth highest peak in Nepal.

"Search efforts were commenced immediately following reports about the missing. However, they haven't been located yet," Pasang Phurba Sherpa, executive director at the Seven Summit Treks, told Xinhua.

As many as 66 climbers have received permits to scale the 8,091-meter-high Mount Annapurna I in the spring climbing season which starts in April and runs until May, according to Nepal's Department of Tourism. Enditem
