U.S. dollar ticks up

NEW YORK, April 7 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar climbed in late trading on Monday.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, increased by 0.24 percent to 103.267 at 3:00 p.m. (1900 GMT).

In late New York trading, the euro lost to 1.0928 U.S. dollars from 1.0943 U.S. dollars in the previous session, and the British pound dropped to 1.2755 U.S. dollars from 1.2881 U.S. dollars in the previous session.

The U.S. dollar bought 148.03 Japanese yen, higher than 146.91 Japanese yen of the previous session. The U.S. dollar decreased to 0.8572 Swiss francs from 0.8606 Swiss francs, and it fell to 1.4200 Canadian dollars from 1.4238 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar climbed to 10.0758 Swedish kronor from 10.0390 Swedish kronor. Enditem
