CAIRO -- Egypt, France, and Jordan called on Monday for an immediate return to the ceasefire in Gaza and affirmed that governance of Gaza must be exclusively under the authority of an empowered Palestinian Authority.
The remarks came in a joint statement after a trilateral summit in the Egyptian capital Cairo that gathered the Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi, French President Emmanuel Macron, and King Abdullah II of Jordan, the Egyptian Presidency said in a statement. SANAA -- Yemen's Houthi group said on Monday it has launched a drone attack on a "military target" in Israel's Tel Aviv and fired cruise missiles at two U.S. warships in the Red Sea.
"We carried out an operation against a military target in Tel Aviv, using a Jaffa drone," Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Sarea said in a televised statement aired by Houthi-run al-Masirah TV. (Yemen-US-Strikes)

BEIRUT -- Three people were killed on Monday in two Israeli drone strikes on southern Lebanon, according to Lebanese sources.
In one strike targeting the Dardara road, "two Syrian nationals riding a motorcycle were killed, and a Lebanese citizen was injured," Lebanon's official National News Agency reported. (Lebanon-Israeli Airstrikes-Deaths)

DAMASCUS -- Syrian foreign affairs chief Asaad al-Shibani on Monday evening issued a decision to recall Syria's ambassadors to Russia and Saudi Arabia, according to the state-run SANA news agency.
The agency, quoting sources from the foreign ministry, said that Bashar al-Jaafari, Syria's envoy to Moscow, and Ayman Sousan, ambassador to Riyadh, have been reassigned to the ministry's central administration in Damascus. (Syria-Diplomatic Reshuffle) Enditem
