RIO DE JANEIRO, April 8 (Xinhua) -- Matias Arezo and Cristian Olivera scored either side of halftime as Brazilian side Gremio clinched a 2-0 home win over Peru's Atletico Grau in the Copa Sudamericana group stage on Tuesday.
Arezo put his side ahead by heading home after Cristian Pavon's cross and Olivera doubled the lead by rifling a long-range effort into the top-left corner.
The result at Arena do Gremio in Porto Alegre means Gremio has six points from two games while Atletico Grau has yet to pick up a point.
In Colombia, Matheuzinho scored in the 81st minute to earn Brazil's Corinthians a 1-1 draw with America de Cali.
Luis Ramos put the hosts ahead with an angled finish into the far corner following Eder Balanta's pass.
Corinthians equalized when Matheuzinho's deflected effort left goalkeeper Jorge Soto with no chance after a swift counterattack.
America remains top of Group C with four points, three points ahead of third-placed Corinthians.
In other Copa Sudamericana fixtures on Tuesday, Independiente won 2-1 at home to Boston River, Caracas FC was held to a 2-2 home draw by Cienciano, Godoy Cruz prevailed 2-0 at home to Sportivo Luqueno and Vasco da Gama edged to a 1-0 home win over Puerto Cabello. Enditem
