ULAN BATOR, April 9 (Xinhua) -- The UB food festival 2025 is currently underway in Ulan Bator, capital of Mongolia, with the aim to introduce international culinary traditions to domestic and foreign tourists.

Organized by the municipal government of Ulan Bator, the week-long event began on Tuesday.

This year, the festival is focusing on Uzbek cuisine, including plov, kazan kebab, samsa and shashlik.

Foodies waited in long lines at some popular stands, and the waiting time for the Uzbek plov taste exceeded two and three hours.

People can join the food event from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. during the festival, according to Ulan Bator Mayor Khishgee Nyambaatar.

Food is the best starting point for people to understand and appreciate the culinary traditions of different countries, said Nyambaatar.

Last year, the festival focused on European, Chinese, Japanese, South Korean, Thailand and Indian cuisines and its wide range of gourmet offerings. Enditem
